The Pró-técnico case: a differentiated analysis of this preparation as another formative alternative that has been uniquely inserted in the Brazilian educational scope

Resumo: Expansion of preparatory courses for the selection of high school education at federal technical schools are expanded and few researches are able to account for the specificity of this phenomenon, a task that this article proposes to undertake. The methodology included questionnaires, interviews and participant observation, applied to 200 students. The results indicate that, in addition to 34% approval in the selection process, there was recognition of the course in the students' training process (89%) and improvement in the performance of the 9th year of regular school (82%). However, signs of tiredness suggest changes in the organization of school time. The results lead to the conclusion that the course (Pró-técnico) may have subtracted vacancies from the private courses, giving more chances of approval to students with greater social need and that educational strategies should be implemented involving other education professionals, in order to approach regular school activities from the preparatory course activities and make this period another important moment in student training.

A metodologia contou com questionários, entrevistas e observação participante, aplicados a 200 estudantes. Os resultados indicam que, além de aprovação de 34% no processo seletivo, houve reconhecimento do curso no processo formativo dos estudantes (89%) e melhoria no rendimento do 9o ano da escola regular (82%). Entretanto, indicativos de cansaço sugerem modificações na organização do tempo escolar.
