Resumo: This article aims to contribute, from the conception of education in Álvaro Vieira Pinto on the scientific literacy of citizens and, in particular, reflect on the possibility of reconciling science, life and art, since that technology alone does not promote a humanizing process, it is necessary to invest and rethink the educational process, the social practices of teaching and learning that can promote a humanizing education. The bias of scientific and technological education needs to walk by methodologies and perspectives that might contribute to students and educators understand the science and technology as human production and that this production turn to contribute to a critical training, autonomous and emancipatory. Thus, we believe that scientific studies and technologies to humanize the subject without devalued nature, commodifying them knowledge in mere recipients of theories that dissociate science and existence

Thus, we believe that scientific studies and technologies to humanize the subject without devalued nature, commodifying them knowledge in mere recipients of theories that dissociate science and existenceEste artigo tem como finalidade contribuir, a partir da concepção de educação em Álvaro Vieira Pinto, sobre a alfabetização científica dos cidadãos e, em especial, refletir sobre a possibilidade de conciliar ciência, existência e técnica, uma vez que as tecnologias por si só não promovem um processo humanizador, é preciso investir e repensar o processo educativo, as práticas sociais de ensino-aprendizagem que possam promover uma formação humanizadora. O viés da educação cientifica e tecnológica necessita trilhar por metodologias e perspectivas que possam contribuir para que educandos e educadores compreendam a ciência e as tecnologias como produção humana e que esta produção volte-se para contribuir para uma formação crítica, autônoma e emancipatória.
