Resumo: Water is one of the most important natural resources for the balance of the ecosystem, as it is essential for maintaining life on earth. Using this resource inappropriately can directly damage human health and the environment. The objective of this study was to estimate the prevalence of waterborne diseases in patients from municipal Basic Units of Laranjal do Jari / AP in the years 2016 to 2019.The data of this research were collected at the Health Surveillance Secretariat. The number of reported cases in the years 2016 to 2019 was analyzed. After compilation, the data were transferred to Excel spreadsheets and analyzed. The main waterborne diseases in Laranjal do Jari-AP between the years 2016 to 2019 were typhoid fever and acute diarrheal disease. A high prevalence of DDA was observed mainly in children. It is noteworthy that the diseases transmitted by water, caused by the lack of basic sanitation are epidemiological indicators that provide subsidies for the formulation of public policies. Therefore, the information obtained in this study can support planning strategies to mitigate the impacts of these diseases on the public health system in Laranjal do Jari.

Usar esse recurso de forma inapropriada pode causar danos diretos à saúde humana e ao meio ambiente. O objetivo deste etudo foi estimar a prevalência de doenças de veiculação hídrica em pacientes de Unidades Básica municipais de Laranjal do Jari/AP nos anos de 2016 a 2019.Os dados dessa pesquisa foram coletados na Secretaria de Vigilância em Saúde. Foram analisados o número de casos notificados nos anos de 2016 a 2019. Após a compilação os dados foram transferidos para planilhas do Excel e analisados. As principais doenças de veiculação hídrica em Laranjal do Jari-AP entre os anos de 2016 a 2019 foram a febre tifoide e doença diarreica aguda. Observou-se uma alta prevalência de DDA principalmente em crianças. Ressalta-seque as doenças veiculadas pela água, ocasionadas pela falta de saneamento básico são indicadores epidemiológicos que fornecem subsídios para a formulação de políticas públicas.
