Internet of Things in Education: an overview from Systematized Literature Reviews

Resumo: Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a network of physical objects that can connect with each other, through the Internet, allowing data collection and transmission. In this context, this article aims to present the analysis of data from two Systematized Literature Reviews on scientific production related to IoT applications in the educational context. The first review was promoted in 2018, based on international works published in 2017, identified in the Scopus database. The second, held in 2020, considered national works identified in the annals of the Brazilian Symposium on Informatics in Education, over a three-year period, from 2017 to 2019. In both cases, aspects such as objectives, resources, used procedures and research results in the area were analyzed. In general, the first review carried out highlighted the customization of learning as a possible significant contribution by IoT to education. The works of the second review, on the other hand, focused on improving the teaching and learning process through the use of IoT.

En este contexto, este artículo tiene el objetivo general de presentar el análisis de datos de dos Revisiones Sistemáticas de Literatura sobre producción científica relacionada con aplicaciones de IoT en el contexto educativo. La primera revisión fue promovida en 2018, basada en trabajos internacionales publicados en 2017, identificados en la base de datos Scopus. La segunda, realizada en 2020, consideró las obras nacionales identificadas en los anales del Simposio Brasileño sobre Informática en Educación, durante un período de tres años, de 2017 a 2019. En ambos casos, se analizaron aspectos como objetivos, recursos, procedimientos utilizados y resultados de investigación en el área. En general, la primera revisión realizada destacó la personalización del aprendizaje como una posible contribución significativa de IoT a la educación. Los trabajos de la segunda revisión, por otro lado, se centraron en mejorar el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje mediante el uso de IoT.Internet das Coisas (Internet of Things - IoT) refere-se a uma rede de objetos físicos que podem se conectar uns com os outros, por meio da Internet, permitindo coleta e transmissão de dados. Nesse contexto, este artigo tem por objetivo geral apresentar a análise dos dados de duas Revisões Sistematizadas da Literatura sobre a produção científica relacionada a aplicações da IoT no contexto educacional. A primeira revisão foi promovida em 2018, a partir de trabalhos internacionais publicados em 2017, identificados na base Scopus. A segunda, realizada em 2020, considerou trabalhos nacionais identificados nos anais do Simpósio Brasileiro de Informática na Educação, no período de três anos, de 2017 a 2019. Em ambos os casos, foram analisados aspectos como objetivos, recursos, procedimentos utilizados e resultados de pesquisas da área. De modo geral, a primeira revisão realizada destacou a personalização da aprendizagem como uma possível contribuição significativa da IoT para a educação.
