Temporal and spatial characterization of alternaria leaf bligth of carrot

Resumo: The Alternaria leaf blight of carrot (Alternaria dauci (Kühn) Groves & Skolko) is the main disease and has compromised crop productivity. As the epidemiology of the disease in Brazil is unknown, the objective of this work was to characterize the temporal and spatial progression of this disease in the cultivation conditions in the southern region of Brazil. Carrot seeds of Brasília cultivar were sown in four blocks of 270 plants each. The initial incidence of the disease in the planting line was used for the spatial analysis through the run and doublet tests and its results analyzed by the value (± 1.64) standardized in the Z test at 5% probability. The severity of the disease was analyzed in 120 plants through a diagrammatic scale in 120 previously demarcated random plants and the severity data were adjusted to a nonlinear model throughout the cycle of culture. It was found that the spatial pattern of the disease was over 99% at random for both tests. The disease progress curve was fitted to the Gompertz model, represented by y=0.253356*(exp(29.59929*exp(- 0.69466*x))). This study will serve as a model for work related to the disease.

Como la epidemiología de la enfermedad no se conoce en Brasil, el objetivo de este trabajo fue caracterizar el progreso temporal y espacial de esta enfermedad en condiciones de cultivo en el sur de Brasil. Las semillas de zanahoria del cultivar Brasilia se sembraron en tres bloques de 270 plantas cada uno. La incidencia inicial de la enfermedad en la línea de siembra se utilizó para el análisis espacial a través de las pruebas de run y doublet y sus resultados se analizaron por el valor estandarizado (± 1.64) en la prueba Z del 5% de probabilidad. La gravedad de la enfermedad se analizó usando una escala esquemática en 120 plantas aleatorias previamente delimitadas y los datos de gravedad se ajustaron a un modelo no lineal a lo largo del ciclo de la cultura. Se encontró que el patrón espacial de la enfermedad era superior al 99% al azar para ambas pruebas. La curva de progreso de la enfermedad se ajustó al modelo de Gompertz, representado por y=0,253356*(exp(29,59929*exp(- 0,69466*x))). Este estudio servirá como modelo para otros trabajos relacionados con la enfermedad.A queima das folhas da cenoura (Alternaria   (Kühn)   Groves   &   Skolko)   é a principal doença da cultura e tem comprometido a sua produtividade. Sementes de cenoura da cultivar Brasília foram semeadas em três blocos de 270 plantas cada. A incidência inicial da doença na linha de plantio foi utilizada para a análise espacial através dos testes de run e doublet e seus resultados analisados pelo valor (±1,64) estandardizado no teste de Z a 5% de probabilidade. A severidade da doença foi analisada através de escala diagramática em 120 plantas ao acaso previamente demarcadas e os dados da severidade foram ajustados a um modelo não linear ao longo do ciclo da cultura. Constatou-se que o padrão espacial da doença foi acima de 99% ao acaso para ambos os testes. A curva de progresso da doença foi ajustada ao modelo de Gompertz, representada por y=0,253356*(exp(29,59929*exp(- 0,69466*x))).
