The individual interest as justification: the liberal grammar in the construction of collegiality between teachers of Basic and Secondary education

Resumo: The reconfiguration of educational policy guidelines in the last decades, having effectiveness as the main target, aimed good, brings profound consequences for the teachers’ work in terms of the forms of organizing school work in schools – particularly, concerning the increase of collegial forms of work and framed by hierarchies that exercise greater scrutiny of individual practices. These injunctions do not mean, however, a direct reproduction by professionals in their activity. With particular focus on the results collected from a scenario survey applied within an investigation carried out in Portugal around the problematic of the plurality of conceptions and formats of involvement in the teaching profession, this article intends to explore, through a Sociology of engagements and commonality, how the grammar of individuals within the liberal public, characterized by the focus on generalisable individual interests as a normative framework, is susceptible to be operationalized by teachers as a device of criticism and resistance towards the evolution in the forms of organization of practices aimed to reinforce collegiality and institutionalization of concerted work.

Estas pautas no suponen, sin embargo, una reproducción directa por parte de aquellos profesionales en el ejercicio de su actividad. Con especial atención a los resultados recogidos de un cuestionario de escenarios aplicado en el marco de una investigación realizada en Portugal centrada en el problema de la pluralidad de concepciones y formatos de envolvimiento en la profesión docente, este artículo pretende explorar, a través de una Sociología de los envolvimientos y comunalidades, como la gramática de los individuos en un público liberal, caracterizada por el enfoque en intereses individuales generalizables como marco normativo, es susceptible de ser operacionalizada por los profesores como un dispositivo de crítica y resistencia a la evolución en las formas de organización de las prácticas en el sentido de reforzar la colegialidad e institucionalización del trabajo concertado.A reconfiguração nas orientações em matéria de política educativa nas últimas décadas à escala transnacional, tendo na eficácia o bem visado, acarreta consequências profundas para o trabalho docente do ponto de vista das formas de organização do trabalho escolar nos estabelecimentos de ensino – em particular, o reforço das formas colegiais de trabalho, enquadradas em hierarquias que exercem um maior escrutínio sobre as práticas. Estas injunções não significam, contudo, uma reprodução direta por parte daqueles profissionais no exercício na sua atividade.
