Performance of cauliflower cultivars in different phytosanitary management in summer/fall crops, under no-tillage, in Santa Catarina, Brazil

Resumo: The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of five cauliflower cultivars under conventional and alternative phytosanitary management system - without the use of synthetic pesticides. Two experiments were carried out at Epagri, Ituporanga Experimental Station in February  2018  and  2019.  In each management a randomized block design with four replications was adopted, with plots of twenty plants of each cultivar, useful plot consisting of six central plants. The seedlings were planted over millet and velvet bean straw in a spacing of 0.5 m x 0.8 m. Aspects related to agronomic yield, quality of inflorescences, damage caused by pests and plant diseases, especially bacterial and fungal rot, were evaluated. The cauliflower hybrids Vera, Verona and Serena stood out in yield and quality, being the most suitable for sowing in summer / autumn off-season crops in the region of Alto Vale do Itajaí, SC, Brazil. The most productive cultivars were less damaged by bacterial diseases and defoliator caterpillars and without whitefly infestation interference in the yield. The results also reveal that it is possible to control pests and diseases using phytosanitary products with lower content of synthetic pesticide residues.

Se llevaron a cabo dos experimentos en Epagri, la estación experimental Ituporanga en febrero de 2018 y 2019. Se adoptó diseño de bloques al azar con cuatro repeticiones, con parcelas de 20 plantas de cada cultivar. Las plántulas se trasplantaron sobre paja de mijo y mucuna en un espacio de 0,5 m x 0,8 m. Se evaluaron aspectos relacionados con el rendimiento agronómico, la calidad de las inflorescencias, el daño causado por plagas y enfermedades de las plantas, especialmente la podredumbre bacteriana y fúngica. Los híbridos de coliflor  Vera, Verona y Serena se destacaron en rendimiento y calidad, siendo los más adecuados para la siembra en cultivos fuera de temporada en el Alto Vale do Itajaí, SC, Brasil. Los cultivares más productivos fueron menos dañados por enfermedades bacterianas y orugas defoliadoras y sin interferencia de la infestación de mosca blanca en el rendimiento. Los resultados también revelan que es posible controlar plagas y enfermedades con productos fitosanitarios de menor toxicidad, es decir, con menor contenido de residuos de pesticidas sintéticos.Avaliou-se o desempenho de cinco cultivares de couve-flor em manejo fitossanitário convencional e alternativo - sem o uso de agrotóxicos sintéticos. Dois experimentos foram realizados na Epagri, Estação Experimental de Ituporanga em fevereiro de 2018 e 2019. Foi adotado delineamento de blocos ao acaso com quatro repetições, tendo como parcelas vinte plantas de cada cultivar. As mudas foram transplantadas sobre palhada de milheto e mucuna no espaçamento de 0,5 m x 0,8 m. Avaliaram-se aspectos referentes ao rendimento  agronômico, à qualidade das inflorescências, a danos causados por pragas e por doenças incidentes nas plantas, especialmente as podridões bacterianas e fúngicas. Os híbridos de couve-flor Vera, Verona e Serena destacaram-se em produtividade e qualidade, sendo os mais indicados para a semeadura em cultivos de entressafra, na região do Alto Vale do Itajaí, SC. Os cultivares mais produtivos foram menos danificados por doenças bacterianas e lagartas desfolhadoras e sem interferência de infestação de mosca-branca no rendimento.
