THE EDP AND CONTRIBUTION TO THE TEACHER EDUCATOR’S CONTINUING TRAINING OF THE REGIONAL UNITS OF EDUCATION FROM SOUTH-WEST OF PARANÁ

In the 2000s, in the state of Parana, research has pointed out a fragmentation in continuing training courses, contributing to the establishment of the Educational Development Program (EDP). We problematize the limits and possibilities of EDP in the continuing education of teacher educators, Regional Units of Education of Dois Vizinhos, Francisco Beltrao, and Pato Branco cities. This paper presents results achieved by a study conducted in the Graduation Program in Education of Unioeste, in Francisco Beltrao. It uses a critical-dialectical and qualitative approach and is based on a bibliographic review, document analysis, and data collected via questionnaires. One of the results achieved is that the interviewees attributes important contribution to their educational-training process through EDP. They also highlight, however, implications that have weakened the training courses offered, as the discontinuity of projects and research, escalation of the pedagogical work, lack of incentive, or precariousness in public policies succeeding the program.
