An overview of problem solving in the view of Brazilian researchers Onuchic and Allevato

Resumo: | Problem solving methodology has occupied a prominent place in the research of educators in Brazil and around the world. In recent years, there has been significant increase of research and debate on this topic, with consensus among researchers about its importance in Mathematics Education, regarding the prospects of changes in the teaching and learning process. Thus, the aim of this paper is to present problem solving as a Methodology of Teaching-Learning-Assessment of Mathematics from the understanding of Brazilian researchers Lourdes de la Rosa Onuchic and Norma Suely Gomes Allevato. Therefore, it is a qualitative and bibliographical research, which presents literature review on problem solving. For the study, we analyzed materials written by the authors, which was published in books, periodicals and conference proceedings, with the purpose of understanding and explaining the vision defended by them, which is the Teaching-Learning-Assessment of Mathematics through Problem Solving. The descriptive analytic study developed shows that the most frequent teaching practice in mathematics teaching has traditionally been the one in which the teacher presents the content orally, starting with definitions and examples, followed by learning exercises. According to the researchers' understanding, this way of teaching Mathematics does not lead the student to construct knowledge in the way that the curricular documents recommend and that is currently expected for the education of students. Los últimos años muestran un aumento significativo de estudios y debates sobre este tema, mostrando un consenso entre los investigadores sobre su importancia para la Educación Matemática y respecto a las perspectivas de cambios en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje. En este sentido, el objetivo de este texto consiste en presentar la resolución de problemas como metodología de enseñanza-aprendizaje-evaluación de matemática con base en la comprensión de las investigadoras brasileñas Lourdes de la Rosa Onuchic y Norma Suely Gomes Allevato. Por lo tanto, se trata de una investigación cualitativa y bibliográfica, que muestra la revisión de literatura sobre la resolución de problemas. Para el estudio se analizaron materiales escritos por las autoras, publicados en libros, periódicos y anales de eventos, para comprender y exponer la visión de ambas autoras, referente al significado de enseñanza-aprendizaje-evaluación de matemática a través de la resolución de problemas. El estudio analítico descriptivo realizado muestra, tradicionalmente, que la práctica docente más frecuente en la enseñanza de matemática, es aquella donde el profesor presenta el contenido oralmente, usando definiciones y ejemplos seguidos de ejercicios de aprendizaje. Para las investigadoras, esta forma de enseñanza no lleva al alumno la construcción del conocimiento, como se recomienda los documentos curriculares, el cual se espera actualmente para la formación de los estudiantes. Sugieren que los profesores tomen en cuenta el nivel de los alumnos, que recurran a sus conocimientos anteriores, [...].A resolução de problemas tem ocupado lugar de destaque nas pesquisas de educadores do Brasil e do mundo. Nos últimos anos tem-se percebido um aumento significativo de pesquisas e debates com essa temática, havendo consenso entre os pesquisadores sobre sua importância na Educação Matemática, no que tange às perspectivas de mudanças no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Assim, o objetivo do presente texto é apresentar a resolução de problemas como metodologia de ensino-aprendizagem-avaliação de Matemática a partir do entendimento das pesquisadoras brasileiras Lourdes de la Rosa Onuchic e Norma Suely Gomes Allevato. Trata-se, portanto, de uma pesquisa qualitativa e bibliográfica, que apresenta uma revisão de literatura sobre a resolução de problemas. Para o estudo, analisamos materiais escritos pelas autoras, publicados em livros, periódicos e anais de eventos, com o intuito de compreender e explicitar a visão defendida por elas, que é o ensino-aprendizagem-avaliação de Matemática através da resolução de problemas. O estudo analítico descritivo desenvolvido mostra que, tradicionalmente, a prática docente mais frequente no ensino de Matemática tem sido aquela em que o professor apresenta o conteúdo oralmente, partindo de definições e exemplos, seguidos de exercícios de aprendizagem. Na compreensão das pesquisadoras, essa forma de ensinar Matemática não leva o aluno a construir o conhecimento da forma que os documentos curriculares recomendam e que se espera atualmente para a formação dos estudantes.
