Resumo: This academic work aims to investigate the news framing that the theme “possession of firearms in Brazil" was presented to readers from the newspaper O Globo. The choice of the newspaper is because it is based on the one of the most violent states in the country. The proposed clipping are the editions that circulated between December 1, 2018 and February 28, 2019. The research methods were morphological analysis of gender and content analysis. The result was that the newspaper framed the easing of possession of firearms as the cause for a possible increase in violence.

La elección del periódico se debe al hecho de la publicación tener su sede en uno de los estados más violentos del país. El recorte compreende del 1 de diciembre del 2018 al 28 de febrero del 2019. Este trabajo adoptó el análisis morfológico de géneros y Análisis de Contenido. El resultado indica que el periódico enmarcó la posesión de armas como un posible aumento de la violencia.Este trabalho tem por objetivo apurar o enquadramento noticioso com que o tema “posse de armas de fogo” foi apresentado aos leitores do jornal O Globo. A escolha pelo periódico deve-se ao fato de a publicação estar sediada em um dos estados mais violentos do país. O recorte compreende de 1º de dezembro de 2018 a 28 de fevereiro de 2019. Este trabalho adotou análise morfológica de gêneros e Análise de Conteúdo.
