Geography of crime: spatial analysis of rape occurrences in the city of Guarulhos between 2015 and 2017

Resumo: This article sought to geographically analyze the occurrences of rapes in the 2015/17 period, based on data from the Civil Police and answer: How is the phenomenon spatialized in the city of Guarulhos-SP? Our hypothesis is that there is a higher incidence of crime in the periphery, in relation to the central areas of the City. Thus, the spatialization of the phenomenon and the list of geographical constraints that act on the diversity of crime are our objectives. The approach to the crime of rape by geography, the scarcity of research on sexual violence, the small number of studies that relate Geography and crime promote the importance of the study.

Nuestra hipótesis es que existe una mayor incidencia de delitos en la periferia, en relación con las áreas centrales de la ciudad. Por lo tanto, la espacialización del fenómeno y la lista de restricciones geográficas que actúan sobre la diversidad del delito son nuestros objetivos. El enfoque del crimen de violación por geografía, la escasez de investigación sobre violencia sexual, la pequeña cantidad de estudios que relacionan Geografía y crimen promueven la importancia del estudio.Este artigo buscou analisar geograficamente as ocorrências de estupros no período 2015/17, a partir de dados da Polícia Civil e responder: Como o fenômeno está espacializado no Município de Guarulhos-SP? Nossa hipótese é de maior incidência do crime na periferia, em relação às áreas centrais da Cidade. Assim, a espacialização do fenômeno e o elenco das condicionantes geográficas que atuam na diversidade do crime são nossos objetivos.
