O QUE HAVIA NAS TERRAS: ESTRUTURA PATRIMONIAL E ECONÔMICA DAS FAZENDAS DE GADO VACARIENSES NO INÍCIO DO SÉCULO XX

ResumoBuscando compreender melhor a formação do território brasileiro e o modo como se procediam as organizações patrimoniais, através do uso de inventários post-mortem e autos de medições de propriedade, nosso trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a estrutura agrária do Rio Grande do Sul entre 1889 e 1930. Considerando a predominância da atividade pecuarista na região, nosso trabalho pretende evidenciar de que modo as concepções e práticas referentes à propriedade e à estrutura patrimonial fundiária e econômica em Vacaria/RS estão inseridas no cenário sul rio-grandense e nacional durante a Primeira República Brasileira. Através da análise dos inventários post-mortem, identificamos as bases produtivas predominantes nas fazendas, relação do número de animais, diversidade de rebanhos, tipos de habitações, delimitação das terras, entre outros aspectos. Os documentos permitem compreender o padrão social predominante, a organização familiar e o modo como as heranças eram transmitidas entre os herdeiros, revelando também aspectos do cotidiano como costumes, crenças e tradições. Traremos neste artigo algumas discussões referentes ao modo como os patrimônios estavam divididos, quem eram os grandes fazendeiros gaúchos e vacarianos do início do século XX, a importância conferida à terra e o que havia nas grandes e pequenas propriedades. Discutiremos também as permanências ou as mudanças na estrutura econômica no primeiro trintídio do século XX com relação ao século XIX. Entre os trabalhos selecionados para o embasamento teórico de nossos estudos, destacamos a pesquisa de Ironita P. Machado Entre Justiça e Lucro: Rio Grande do Sul 1890-1930. A historiadora aborda os litígios envolvendo a posse e propriedade das terras sul-rio-grandenses através de processos judiciais.AbstractTrying to understand better the formation of the Brazilian territory and how the patrimonial organizations proceed through the use of invents post-mortem property measurements, our work has as objective checking the agricultural structure of Rio Grande do Sul between 1889-1930. Considering the predominance of the cattle rancher activity in the region, our work intends to evidence in the way the conceptions and practices referring to the property and economical and fundiaria property structure in the Vacaria RS are inserted in the RS and national scenario during the first Brazilian Republic. Through the analyzes of the inventories post-mortem, we identify the productive bases predominant in farms, the number of animal, diversity of the herds, kinds of dwelling, land boundaries, among other aspects. The documents allow to understand the social predominant pattern, the familiar organization and the way of the heritages was shared among the heirs, also releasing the daily aspects as customs, beliefs, and traditions. In this article we are going to talk about some aspects referring to the way the patrimony was shared, who were the big gauchos farmers and Vacarianos in the beginning of the XX century, the importance given to land and who there were the big and small property. We are also going to discuss the stays or the changes in the economical structure in the first trinitus in the XX century in relation to the XIX century. Among the selected works to the basement of our studies we highlight the Ironita P. Machado Between the justice and profit: Rio Grande do Sul 1890-1930. The historian approaches the litigation involving the possession and properties of the lands sul rio-grandense the judicial process.
