Resumo: The outliving of 5,000 hanseniasis patients of the State of S. Paulo whose diagnosis had been made between 1947 and 1950, was calculated according to Chiang's method. The chances of outliving of the three clinical forms of hanseniasis (Virchovian, Tuberculoid and Indeterminate) were compared between them, as well as with the outliving of the Brazilian population in 1950. It is concluded that the I and V forms have similar chances of outliving, the T type coming in the third place.

As esperanças de sobreviria de cada uma das três modalidades clinicas da moléstia são comparadas entre si e com as da população brasileira em 1950.
