Resumo: Most of the techniques for Multiple Access Interference (MAI) reduction or cancellation in Code-Division Multiple Access systems are applicable only to the up-link. In this case, the radio-base system knows the signature of all users and can apply a Multi-User Detection (MUD) strategy. A new technique is proposed in this work to reduce the influence of MAI on the down-link of a Multi-Carrier CDMA (MC-CDMA) system, without resorting to MUD. The technique is based on the use of a pair of spreading sequences especially chosen for each user. These sequences must have special characteristics to reduce the MAI effects on fixed and time varying multi-path Rayleigh fading channels. The proposed technique shows better results in terms of bit error rate if compared with the originally described by H. Zare and D. Liu.

Liu.A maioria das t?ecnicas para redu?c?ao ou cancelamento da interfer?encia de m?ultiplo acesso (MAI) em um sistema de m?ultiplo acesso por divis?ao de c?odigo (CDMA) aplicase somente no up-link. Neste caso, o sistema r?adio base (RBS - Radio Base System) conhece os c?odigos de todos os usu?arios e uma t?ecnica de detec?c?ao multi-usu?ario para cancelamento da MAI pode ser empregada. Esta disserta?c?ao prop?oe uma t?ecnica de redu?c?ao dos efeitos da MAI no enlace direto de um sistema CDMA com m?ultiplas portadoras (MC-CDMA) sem a utiliza?c?ao de detec?c?ao multi-usu?ario. A t?ecnica proposta se baseia na utiliza?c?ao de um par de seq?u?encias de espalhamento criteriosamente escolhidas para cada usu?ario. Tais seq?u?encias devem possuir caracter??sticas especiais de forma a reduzir os efeitos da interfer?encia de m?ultiplo acesso em canais com m?ultiplos percursos seletivos invariantes e variantes no tempo. Os resultados obtidos mostram que a t?ecnica proposta apresenta um melhor desempenho em rela?c?ao `a taxa de erros de bit se comparada com o originalmente descrito por H. Zare e D.
