Resumo: Several technologies are being considered to be part of the new standard of mobile communications networks, 5G. Among these technologies, we have the Full Duplex transmission, theme of this work. Full Duplex transmission is a technology that allows a node to transmit and receive at the same time in the same frequency band, greatly increasing network capacity. Technologies like this are of great importance for the 5G, because spectral efficiency and capacity requirements are increasing for these networks. In this dissertation a mathematical model was developed to analyze the performance of full duplex and half duplex transmission technology, combined with omnidirectional and directional antennas, in a wireless multi-hop network with traffic in only one-way. An analytical model of multidimensional continuous-time Markov chains was developed to model the system and to present the following performance metrics: blocking probability, drop probability, system capacity, throughput and average number of elements in the system. Based on the results, it was observed that in a wireless multi-hop network with traffic in only one-way, the half-duplex technology used with directional antennas has the best performance in terms of capacity and throughput in a scenario where there is no buffer on the network nodes. However, when introducing buffer to the nodes, the full duplex technology used with directional antennas performs much better than half duplex technology, nearly triple the capacity and throughput.
