Resumo: | An analysis of 22 patients with primary malignant neoplasm of the gallbladder, 16 women and 6 men, with a mean age of 64.7 years (range 52 to 85 years) was performed. All patients underwent surgery, 11 (50%) of whom were submitted to cholecystectomy with or without liver resection; four (18.1%) to palliation; and seven (31.8%,) to biopsy only. Cancer was associated with lithiasis in 40.9%, of patients. According to Nevin's et al. cassification, there were one patient in Stage I, two in Stage II, one in Stage III, and 18 in Stage V. Operative mortality was 13.6%. The overall mean survival time was 3.4 months, and in the patients submitted to resection it was 4.3 months. Two patients are still alive, one at 7 months (stage D, and the other surviving 13 months (stage II). |
