Resumo: After a historical outline of the discovery and Progressive acquisition of knowledge about the Lymphatic System through centuries the author describes the embryonic development of the said System. There follows a criticai review of the Anatomy and Physiology in which the practical aspects are stressed. Numerous ilustrations such as schemes and photographies supplement the article.
