Resumo: Existential psychotherapy is born of philosophical thinking, has no deterministic or reductionist model. This approach has as a method open possibilities of life presenting the contribution of philosophical thought of Sorem Aabye Kierkegaard on the existential perspective for Psychology. This study is qualitative and descriptive base through literature in the intention of achieving the objectives proposed in the study. It was found that the thinking of the philosopher Kierkegaard on therapeutic relationships and recognize the anguish and despair of human existence makes the authentic human being, and, from the existential psychotherapy seeks to recognize yourself and the possibilities of life.

Esta abordagem tem como método abrir possibilidades de vida apresentando a contribuição do pensamento filosófico de Sorem Aabye Kierkegaard na perspectiva existencial para a Psicologia. Este estudo se constitui de base qualitativa e caráter descritivo através de levantamento bibliográfico na intencionalidade de atingir os objetivos propostos no estudo.
