Resumo: This article shows the factors and pathologies that lead to mortality in the Neonatal Intensive Therapy Units - NICUs in two cities of the Minas Gerais triangle, more specifically in Patos de Minas and Araguari. As a result of actions to promote child health in Brazil, the neonatal mortality rate is declining in several regions of the country. This decrease is a health indicator used to evaluate the quality of health offered by the different regions of Brazil. The objective of this research was to know the index of hospital morbidity in NICU, to identify the prevalence in both sexes and the main related factors in municipalities of the TriânguloMineiro - Minas Gerais. In order to reach the proposed objectives, a bibliographic research was carried out, whose data were collected in the TabWin program, version 3.6, in the DataSusdatabase of the Ministry of Health. The results showed that perinatal conditions were more prevalent in both municipalities that have approximately the same Density, are in the same mining region with a smaller number of NICUs. In Araguari, but with a higher hospitalization rate than in the municipality of Patos de Minas.

In Araguari, but with a higher hospitalization rate than in the municipality of Patos de Minas.
