LEARNING AS AN INFLUENTIAL FACTOR IN THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF ELDERLY PEOPLE

Resumo: | The growing number of elderly people in Brazil and in the world has been the target of countless reflections and different scientific productions. Due to old age, the individual experiences changes in various aspects of life, including the neurological, psychological and physical spheres, which influence aspects of an environmental and social level. Considering the focus of neurocognitive changes, this study aimed to elucidate the implications of learning in the aging process, taking into account in a concise manner the main factors pointed out in scientific production. For this, the literature on the subject was recovered. We opted for the narrative descriptive methodology whose qualitative approach aims to rescue previous productions. As a result, the recovery made it possible to understand that learning is a factor that positively influences the quality of life and well-being of the oldest old. , in addition to formal learning. It was possible to conclude that learning is an important aspect as an intervention and a protective factor against the decline of old age, since it favors neuroplasticity, a factor that helps in the adaptation to new real and subjective contexts of an important stage of life, old age. This study highlights the demand for research that deepen considerations about the peculiarities of neuroplasticity and learning in this stage of human development. It concludes the improvement of encouraging the engagement of the elderly in activities that establish new learning, in order to promote autonomy, independence and strengthen social bonds, and therefore, the quality of life of the oldest elder. |

Debido a la vejez, el individuo experimenta cambios en diversos aspectos de la vida, incluidas las esferas neurológica, psicológica y física, que influyen en aspectos de nivel ambiental y social. Considerando el enfoque de los cambios neurocognitivos, este estudio tuvo como objetivo dilucidar las implicaciones del aprendizaje en el proceso de envejecimiento, teniendo en cuenta de manera concisa los principales factores señalados en la producción científica. Para ello, se recuperó la literatura sobre el tema. Se optó por la metodología narrativa descriptiva cuyo enfoque cualitativo pretende rescatar producciones anteriores. Como resultado, la recuperación permitió comprender que el aprendizaje es un factor que influye positivamente en la calidad de vida y el bienestar de los ancianos más viejos. , además del aprendizaje formal. Se pudo concluir que el aprendizaje es un aspecto importante como intervención y factor protector frente al declive de la vejez, ya que favorece la neuroplasticidad, factor que ayuda en la adaptación a nuevos contextos reales y subjetivos de una etapa importante de la vida, la vejez. Este estudio destaca la demanda de investigación que profundice consideraciones sobre las peculiaridades de la neuroplasticidad y el aprendizaje en esta etapa del desarrollo humano. Concluye la mejora de fomentar la participación de las personas mayores en actividades que establezcan nuevos aprendizajes, con el fin de promover la autonomía, la independencia y fortalecer los lazos sociales, y por tanto, la calidad de vida de los mayores.O crescente número de idosos no Brasil e no mundo tem sido alvo de inúmeras reflexões e de diferentes produções científicas. Devido à velhice, o indivíduo vivencia mudanças em diversos aspectos da vida, incluindo as esferas neurológica, psicológica e física, que possuem como influenciadores aspectos de caráter ambiental e de nível tanto social. Considerando o enfoque das mudanças neurocognitivas, o presente estudo teve como objetivo elucidar as implicações da aprendizagem no processo de envelhecimento, levando conta de maneira concisa os principais fatores apontados nas produções científicas. Para tal, ocorreu a recuperação da literatura em torno da temática. Optou-se pela metodologia descritiva narrativa cuja abordagem qualitativa visa resgatar produções anteriores. Enquanto resultado, a recuperação possibilitou compreender que a aprendizagem se faz como um fator que influencia de forma positiva na qualidade de vida e no bem-estar dos longevos, observa-se também, a importância da flexibilidade cognitiva derivada de novas aprendizagens no cotidiano dos idosos, além da aprendizagem formal. Foi possível concluir que a aprendizagem é um aspecto importante como intervenção e um fator protetivo para decréscimos da velhice, uma vez que, favorece a neuroplasticidade, fator este, que auxilia na adaptação aos novos contextos reais e subjetivos de uma importante fase de vida, a velhice. Destaca-se por meio deste estudo a demanda de pesquisas que aprofundem as considerações sobre as peculiaridades da neuroplasticidade e da aprendizagem neste estágio do desenvolvimento humano.
