Resumo: The purpose of this paper is to review the literature in narrative form on the use of Botulinum Toxin (BTX) in the treatment of bruxism. TXB is a substance produced from a bacterium known as Clostridium botulinum. Thus, the most widely used on the market today is type A, which in its applicability manages to promote muscle relaxation. Therefore, when correlating Bruxism, involuntary contraction of the masticatory muscles, it is clear that this dysfunction, which causes headaches, tooth wear, abfraction, among various other damages to the patient, can be associated with the use of TXB. In this context, the aim was to study up-to-date articles on the use of botulinum toxin in the treatment of bruxism. Therefore, its use in dentistry is highly effective, as it is a minimally invasive treatment applied by the dentist and has effective therapeutic results.

Scientia GeneralisScientia GeneralisScientia Generalis2023-10-25info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://scientiageneralis.com.br/index.php/SG/article/view/51710.22289/sg.V4N2A2227363/v4n2a22Scientia Generalis; v. 4 n. 2 (2023); 271-278Scientia Generalis; Vol. 4 No. 2 (2023); 271-278Scientia Generalis; Vol. 4 Núm. 2 (2023); 271-2782675-299910.22289/sg.V4N227363/v4n2reponame:Scientia Generalisinstname:Publicação independenteinstacron:INDEPporhttps://scientiageneralis.com.br/index.php/SG/article/view/517/400Copyright (c) 2023 Ana Clara Fernandes Silva, Isabella Cristina Rosa Magalhães, Fernanda Gonçalves Silva https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSilva, Ana Clara FernandesMagalhães, Isabella Cristina RosaSilva , Fernanda Gonçalves2023-11-20T20:38:58Zoai:ojs2.scientiageneralis.com.br:article/517Revistahttps://scientiageneralis.com.br/index.php/SGPRIhttps://scientiageneralis.com.br/index.php/SG/oaieditor@scientiageneralis.com.br2675-29992675-2999opendoar:2023-11-20T20:38:58Scientia Generalis - Publicação independentefalse
