Resumo: Each human life constitutes, according to Alasdair MacIntyre's thought, an identity whose unit resides in a unitary narrative with beginning, middle and end. Such understanding of each human person's narrative identity is consequence of a historic meta-narrative process, whereby MacIntyre recovers and rewrites the value of stories in one's moral education. MacIntyre permeates the narratives that based the so-called classical moral scheme, from Sophocles to the aristotelian-thomist tradition, extracting from them fundamental concepts of virtue. It is through this process, presented in this article, that it is possible to affirm that, for the philosopher, choosing a morality would be the same as choosing a specific narrative kind.

Sergio Salles2022-11-09info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://www.telosjournals.com.br/ojs/index.php/isa/article/view/12210.59079/isagoge.v2i6.122Isagoge - Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences; Vol. 2 No. 6 (2022); 1-16Isagoge - Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences; Vol. 2 Núm. 6 (2022); 1-16Isagoge - Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences; v. 2 n. 6 (2022); 1-162763-7123reponame:Isagoge (Niterói)instname:Publicação independenteinstacron:INDEPporhttps://www.telosjournals.com.br/ojs/index.php/isa/article/view/122/96Copyright (c) 2022 Isagoge - Journal of Humanities and Social Scienceshttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMoreno da Silva, Felipe Augusto2023-09-11T13:18:27Zoai:ojs2.www.telosjournals.com.br:article/122Revistahttps://www.telosjournals.com.br/ojs/index.php/isaPRIhttps://www.telosjournals.com.br/ojs/index.php/isa/oaitelos@telosjournals.com2763-71232763-7123opendoar:2023-09-11T13:18:27Isagoge (Niterói) - Publicação independentefalse
