The Presence and Northeastern Mobility in Maringá: new aspects on regional history

Throughout the process of expansion of coffee farming in northern Paraná, there was an intense migration from the northeast to the city of Maringa. For a better understanding of such migrants it was carried out researches over the electoral cards issued between 1956-1972. As per these documents it was found information on the activities performed and later displacements by these northeast people to other cities and regions until the mid-80´s. The collected data as per the northeastern mobility enabled the identification of the effects of socioeconomic reordering in the region and the state, which took place between at the latter of the 50´s and 70´s resulting from the replacement of coffee, by means of the mechanization of agriculture and the incipient industrialization.
