Agro-Industry Cooperatives in the State of Paraná and the Role of“BRDE” as their Development Inducer

Resumo: The economic activity organized by cooperative companies demonstrates to be an important way to stimulate the economic and social development. From this point, the objective of this paper it is to analyze the fast evolution of this activity by industrial cooperatives, with focus on the State of Paraná. Moreover, we present the direct correlation between this evolution and the central role played by Banco Regional de Desenvolvimento do Extremo Sul (BRDE) as an inductive public institution for economic and social development. The history of production organization by cooperatives companies in the South Region and the BRDE actions are associated for a long time.

Partiendo de esa constatación, el objetivo de este texto es presentar algunos indicadores que ilustran la evolución expresiva de la producción agroindustrial por cooperativas en la región sur de Brasil, con destaque para el caso del Paraná, considerándose que dicho éxito tiene relación directa con el apoyo al desarrollo económico determinado por el acceso a crédito de largo plazo. En ese sentido, se utilizan como parámetro las financiaciones realizadas por el Banco Regional de Desarrollo del Extremo Sur (BRDE) a las cooperativas, enfatizándose que la historia del cooperativismo en la región sur y la del BRDE están asociadas desde su origen.A atividade econômica na forma de cooperativa tem demonstrado ser um meio importante para impulsionar o desenvolvimento econômico e social. Partindo desta constatação, o objetivo deste texto é apresentar alguns indicadores que ilustram a evolução expressiva da produção agroindustrial por cooperativas na Região Sul do Brasil, com destaque para o caso do Paraná, considerando-se que esse sucesso tem relação direta com o apoio ao desenvolvimento econômico determinado pelo acesso a crédito de longo prazo.
