Resumo: A new approach for the development of a coarse-mesh numerical spectral nodal method is presented in this paper. This method, referred to as the Spectral Deterministic Method { Constant Nodal (SDM{CN), is based on a spectral analysis of the multigroup X,Y-Geometry, linearly anisotropic scattering neutron transport equations in discrete ordinates ( SN)formulation for xed-source calculations in non-multiplying media. In this paper we present typical model problems to illustrate the accuracy and the e ciency for coarse-mesh energy multigroup SN calculations of the SDM-CN method. The numerical results obtained are compared with the traditional ne-mesh Diamond Di erence (DD) method and the results obtained by DOT{II and TWOTRAN codes. The numerical results are also compared with the spectral nodal method, spectral Green's function (SGF).

description A new approach for the development of a coarse-mesh numerical spectral nodal method is presented in this paper.
