Resumo: The present report discusses an initiative of the students of the EEMTI Jacob Nobre de Oliveira Benevides club, with the intention of promoting sustainable practices in the educational institution, optimizing physical spaces around the school, promoting protagonism and optimizing the relationship between school and school. community, in addition to arousing students' interest in environmental projects. Seeking to insert the environmental education theme into the school, we present the ecological garden project, relating the theories worked in the classroom with the student's practice, as well as the school community. This club was formed by students from the 2nd year classes of high school with the support of a mentor teacher. With weekly guided meetings, the project was designed and put into practice in three actions. Action I: construction of beds with pet bottles; action II: soil preparation and cultivation; action III: production of organic relents. Questionnaires with closed questions were applied to a sample of 30 students of the researched research, seeking answers about the proposed objectives. According to the results, the Project was successful because it aroused in the students a greater interest in building knowledge in a pleasant way, providing opportunities for student protagonism and strengthening the school community relationship.

According to the results, the Project was successful because it aroused in the students a greater interest in building knowledge in a pleasant way, providing opportunities for student protagonism and strengthening the school community relationship.  O presente relato discorre sobre uma iniciativa dos alunos do clube horta ecológica da EEMTI Jacob Nobre de Oliveira Benevides com a intenção de promover práticas sustentáveis na instituição de ensino, otimizando os espaços físicos do entorno da escola, promovendo o protagonismo estudantil e otimizando a relação escola e comunidade, além de despertar o interesse dos alunos por projetos ambientais. Buscando inserir dentro da escola a temática educação ambiental, apresentamos o projeto horta ecológica, relacionando as teorias trabalhados em sala de aula com a prática do aluno, como também da comunidade escolar. O referido clube foi formado por alunos das turmas de 2°s anos do ensino médio com o suporte de um professor orientador. Com encontros semanais orientados o projeto foi desenhado e colocado em prática em três ações. Ação I: construção de canteiros com garrafas pets; ação II: preparo e cultivo do solo; ação III: produção de repelentes orgânicos. Foi aplicado questionários com perguntas fechadas para uma amostra de 30 alunos da escola pesquisada, buscando respostas sobre os objetivos propostos.
