Sustainability in Federal Institutions of Higher Education of the Pernambuco Universitas Consortium: A3P and related practices

As a result of new sustainability references and socio-environmental vision present in the guidelines of the Public Administration Environmental Agenda (A3P), one can verify the adoption of sustainable practices as a means of bringing awareness to society about environmental concerns, which is one of the roles Universities and Federal Teaching Institutes. Therefore, this study aims to understand these practices, published on the official websites of the federal public HEIs that are part of the Pernambuco Universitas Consortium. The methodological design used in the present work is of an exploratory-descriptive nature, with a qualitative research type and documentary research. As a result, it was possible to perceive that all the HEIs observed have some kind of disclosed environmental commitment, although not all of them have adhered to the A3P or have disclosed practices that fit the axes of the Environmental Agenda, since the analysis started from the search for information on the institutional websites of the researched HEIs. The intention is not to exhaust the subject, but to provoke interest in the content, which is broad and essential for the preservation of the environment and consequent improvement in the quality of life of the population.
