Sustainability in Federal Institutions of Higher Education of the Pernambuco Universitas Consortium: A3P and related practices

Resumo: As a result of new sustainability references and socio-environmental vision present in the guidelines of the Public Administration Environmental Agenda (A3P), one can verify the adoption of sustainable practices as a means of bringing awareness to society about environmental concerns, which is one of the roles Universities and Federal Teaching Institutes. Therefore, this study aims to understand these practices, published on the official websites of the federal public HEIs that are part of the Pernambuco Universitas Consortium. The methodological design used in the present work is of an exploratory-descriptive nature, with a qualitative research type and documentary research. As a result, it was possible to perceive that all the HEIs observed have some kind of disclosed environmental commitment, although not all of them have adhered to the A3P or have disclosed practices that fit the axes of the Environmental Agenda, since the analysis started from the search for information on the institutional websites of the researched HEIs. The intention is not to exhaust the subject, but to provoke interest in the content, which is broad and essential for the preservation of the environment and consequent improvement in the quality of life of the population.

The intention is not to exhaust the subject, but to provoke interest in the content, which is broad and essential for the preservation of the environment and consequent improvement in the quality of life of the population.  Em decorrência de novos referenciais de sustentabilidade e visão socioambiental presentes nas diretrizes da Agenda Ambiental da Administração Pública (A3P), pode-se verificar a adoção de práticas sustentáveis como um meio de levar conscientização à sociedade sobre a preocupação ambiental, que é um dos papéis das Universidades e Institutos Federais de Ensino. Sendo assim, este estudo tem por objetivo conhecer essas práticas, publicizadas nos sites oficiais das IES públicas federais integrantes do Consórcio Pernambuco Universitas. O delineamento metodológico utilizado no presente trabalho é de natureza exploratório-descritiva, com tipo de pesquisa predominantemente qualitativa e pesquisa documental. Como resultados, foi possível perceber que todas as IES observadas possuem algum tipo de compromisso ambiental divulgado, ainda que nem todas tenham aderido à A3P ou tenham divulgado práticas que se adequam aos eixos da Agenda Ambiental, uma vez que a análise partiu da busca por informações nos sites institucionais das IES pesquisadas.
