There are many religious groups where spiritual and physical healing plays a vital role. Many people even associate these religions with the healing process. In the medical field, this religious attachment can be beneficial or harmful. Beneficial because many of these religions preach passivity, comfort, and peace, while imposing codes of ethics that inhibit exposure to some risk behaviors, such as alcohol and drug consumption, committing acts of violence and others. This study discusses comments about the process of illness and healing in the face of issues of spirituality. The results showed that the body's illness process goes far beyond clinical diagnoses. In this sense, the subject can no longer be seen only as an unhealthy body. You have to consider it holistically, taking into account all its complexity, including your values, assumptions, as well as your personal and spiritual beliefs. Therefore, a multidisciplinary analysis that considers the subject in all its biopsychosocial dimensions is necessary.
