Hunger is a sign of contradiction in a time of abundance

In a context of high productivity, the situation that millions of people are living in is alarming. One terrifying fact is that hunger in the world causes more deaths than conflicts and terrorism, making it the most significant form of violence. The purpose of this text is to expose the dramatic reality of hunger and provide evidence as to why these alarming figures do not outweigh private interests. The research is based on bibliographic sources and diagnoses the global reality, seeking to propose alternatives. While approximately 9.8% of the world's population suffers from hunger, at least 29% of the global population lives in a state of food insecurity. The problem is structural and rooted in competitive logic and self-interest calculations. Changing this reality requires joint effort and strong determination. The indications of the rationality guiding the prevailing way of life in the current context make the prospects of short-term change minimal.
