Resumo: | This article discourses about the book of Ruth, probably a female memory, contextualizing it literarily, historically and in the Jewish liturgy. It is a book from the sapiential aspect, although not located among the Sapientials. The meaning of the names of the characters as well as the relationship between them in the narrative path constitutes a reading of the reality of the people in the postexilic context of the Persian domain. The author, anonymous, wants to help the poor of his time to find a way out in the context of Persian exploitation, which was not found in the Law of Ezra, but in the recover of some clan-tribal laws, such as that of gleaning and the right to redeem, brought into a new historical moment. The book shows that the solution to the situation of the people was the result of a process, which implied historical awareness, redemption of social rights and the possession of land, effected with the marriage of Ruth and Booz |

The book shows that the solution to the situation of the people was the result of a process, which implied historical awareness, redemption of social rights and the possession of land, effected with the marriage of Ruth and BoozO presente artigo aborda o livro de Rute, provavelmente memória feminina, contextualizando-o literariamente, historicamente e na liturgia judaica.
