Resumo: Introduction: The Nursing Process is a methodological tool that guides professional care Sex reassignment surgery such as neovulvovaginoplasty, also known as feminization genitoplasty, adapts the physical sex to the psychological sex and aims to benefit the mental health of transsexuals and their social relationships. The aim of this study was to find out about the general aspects of neocolpovulvoplasty covered in scientific journals in the medical field over the last five years and to reflect on the repercussions for perioperative nursing. This is a secondary data study, combining two research methods: on the one hand, an integrative literature review using the following databases: SCIELO, REDALYC and MEDLINE, and on the other hand, an exploratory-propositional study that problematizes the role of nurses. The following categories of knowledge were obtained: clinical follow-up, hormone treatment, specialized multidisciplinary team, stages of surgery, secondary surgeries, positive and negative results, patient satisfaction and quality of life, and post-operative complications. The conclusion is that it is very important to produce and socialize knowledge about feminization genitoplasty as a basic condition for improving the quality of care and humanized reception, as advocated by the Unified Health System.

The conclusion is that it is very important to produce and socialize knowledge about feminization genitoplasty as a basic condition for improving the quality of care and humanized reception, as advocated by the Unified Health System.
