Actions of primary health care for elderly during the Covid-19 pandemic: a narrative review

Resumo: Objective: To gather scientific articles in the literature regarding actions developed/proposed in Primary Health Care (PHC) for the care of the elderly during the Covid-19 pandemic. Method: Narrative literature review. The bibliographic search was conducted from October to December 2020, in the databases LILACS, SCIELO, IBECS, PUBMED, and Google Scholar. Thematic analysis of the literature was performed. Results: Seven publications were included, indicating a restructuring of PHC services/actions, such as the adoption of technological resources, home visits, and strengthening collaborations with other healthcare sectors, aiming for comprehensive care for the elderly during the Covid-19 pandemic emergency, with the goal of maintaining care for this segment of the population. Conclusion: The development of new actions and the use of technological innovations by PHC have been crucial in optimizing the quality of healthcare for the elderly during pandemic times.

Método: Revisão narrativa da literatura. O levantamento bibliográfico foi realizado no mês de outubro a dezembro de 2020, nas bases de dados LILACS, SCIELO, IBECS, PUBMED e Google Acadêmico. Foi realizada análise da temática publicada na literatura. Resultados: Foram incluídas sete publicações, que apontaram uma reestruturação nos serviços/ações da APS, tais como adesão a recursos tecnológicos, visitas domiciliares e fortalecimento com outros setores de assistência com vistas ao atendimento integral ao idoso durante a emergência da pandemia da Covid-19, com o intuito de manter o atendimento dessa parcela da população. Conclusão: Tem sido de fundamental importância o desenvolvimento de novas ações e do emprego de inovações tecnológicas pela APS para otimizar a qualidade no atendimento à saúde do idoso em tempos de pandemia.     Palavras-chave: Atenção primária à saúde.
