Resumo: | The hypertension is a disease of vascular regulation, in which the mechanisms that control blood pressure within the normal range are altered. Objective to identify the main factors that hinder the adherence of hypertensive patients to treatment. We also sought to carry out health education in order to inform the population of the need to modify the lifestyle of hypertensive people. Promote, through Health Education activities, adequate knowledge about the treatment and the ills caused by arterial hypertension. Propose a plan to reduce the factors that lead hypertensive patients to non-adherence to treatment. Methods: This is a literature review with a qualitative research approach. The search for articles was carried out at the Virtual Health Library (VHL) in the databases of Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Latin American and Caribbean Center for Health Sciences Information (BIREME) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), published between 2010 and 2020. Results: Hypertension often remains asymptomatic until a late stage of its evolution, as it is one of the most important risk factors for both coronary artery diseases and for strokes. Conclusion: it is necessary to engage everyone in primary care, so that there is the elaboration and execution of projects for this population with multiprofessional actions that seek to stimulate adherence to the treatment of hypertensive patients. |
