Resumo: Nursing management involves planning, organizing, directing, controlling and applying work processes to meet the needs of health services in order to keep up with the dynamism that the profession requires. Objective: analyze scientific evidence on nursing management with a view to the intensive care unit. Method: this is an integrative review, with data collection carried out from September 2023 to January 2024, through reading and analysis of articles published in the last 10 years, in the portuguese language, free of charge, available in full in the form online, in the Scielo database and Google Scholar. Results: the articles analyzed show that there are many challenges for the good performance of a nurse manager, ranging from the need for scientific technical improvement to the ability to manage conflicts and provide good working conditions. Conclusion: the modern world requires nurse managers to constantly update their practices, appropriate the technological apparatus, exercise the ability to listen, respect the team in order to manage conflicts and monitor the dynamic transformations in the world of work.

Objetivo: Analisar as evidências científicas, sobre gestão de enfermagem com um olhar para a unidade de terapia intensiva. Método: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, sendo a coleta de dados realizada no período de setembro de 2023 a janeiro de 2024, através da leitura e análise de artigos publicados nos últimos 10 anos, na língua portuguesa, gratuitos, disponíveis integralmente na forma on line, na base de dados Scielo e google acadêmico. Resultados: Os artigos analisados evidenciam que são muitos os desafios para o bom desempenho de um enfermeiro gestor, indo desde a necessidade de aprimoramento técnico científico a habilidade de gerenciar conflitos e prover boas condições de trabalho.
