Resumo: Obstetric violence (OV) refers to any act inflicted upon women that deprives them of their autonomy, violates their bodily integrity and reproductive processes. This form of violence can manifest through verbal, physical, or sexual means, as well as unnecessary interventions and procedures lacking scientific justification. The objective of this study is to analyze the doubts, physical and mental problems resulting from obstetric violence, and the response of healthcare institutions to address this issue. Methodology: Integrative literature review. The search was conducted in databases such as BDenf, LILACS, and SciELO. The inclusion criteria encompassed articles published within the last seven years (2016 to 2022), written in brazilian portuguese, and relevant to the research problem; exclusion criteria involved unrelated articles, articles in languages other than Portuguese, and those published before 2016. The findings consisted of ten scientific articles, which were classified into the following thematic categories: obstetric violence, violence against women, and humanized childbirth. Final considerations, obstetric violence leads to physical, emotional, and mental problems in women's lives, and it can occur at any stage of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum period.
