Resumo: Autism is a multifactorial disorder that begins before the age of three, causing difficulties such as social interaction, personal communication and language. Pharmaceutical care plays a fundamental role in initial care, as well as in the medication approach, monitoring and follow-up of the patient. Therefore, this work seeks to highlight the importance of the role of the pharmaceutical professional in the treatment of patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It is a literature review, qualitative, exploratory and bibliographic using the databases LILACS, SCIELO and MEDLINE / PuBMED. ASD is a complex disorder and requires multidisciplinary care in which the role of the pharmacist is essential for the management of treatment and in the design of the pharmacotherapeutic profile, improving the living conditions of people with this disorder.

Sendo assim, este trabalho busca destacar a importância do papel do profissional farmacêutico no tratamento dos portadores de transtorno do espectro do autismo (TEA). Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura, qualitativa, exploratória e bibliográfica utilizando as bases de dados LILACS, SCIELO e MEDLINE/ PuBMED.
