Resumo: The participation of nurses and family support is essential for these mothers, guaranteeing emotional stability as well as the health of infants. In this study, an integrative review was carried out, defined as a broad review approach, which allows definitions of complex, theoretical concepts of health problems relevant to nursing. Searches were carried out at Lilacs, Scielo and Medline / Pubmed. Therefore, it is necessary for the nurse to be present in the assistance to the nursing mother and to have an understanding focused on the characteristics of each woman and her family members that it is necessary to understand not only the event biologically, but the social, cultural and psychological issues that involve support breastfeeding.

Neste estudo, foi realizada uma revisão integrativa, definida como uma ampla abordagem de revisões, que permite definições de conceitos complexos, teóricos de problemas de saúde relevantes para a enfermagem. Para a realização da pesquisa foram realizadas buscas na Lilacs, Scielo e Medline/Pubmed.
