Alienação parental: a estratégia utilizada nas rupturas dos vínculos conjugais e os reflexos psicológicos no âmbito familiar

Parental alienation has been present in the family setting since the beginning of time. Nevertheless, the high number of marital dissolutions that are currently taking place has contributed to the increase of this practice. In this context, children and teenagers are the most affected in this family imbroglio, in which they’re used as a kind of weapon by the alienators, who mistakenly try attack each other through the children. Consequently, the nature of the problem addressed in this paper is based on the possibility of measuring the psychological damage that this practice causes to the infants, through the materialization of the Parental Alienation Syndrome, and offers too an approach on the significance of the alertness and the affective responsibility of the family, during the marital breakups. Hence, this study also explains the forms of alienation to which the alienated victim is exposed, the motivations that lead to these alienating acts, the efficacy of legal means to defy them and the psychological consequences that these acts cause, due to the fracture of the conjugal ties. The methodology is based on the bibliographical review, who helps to demonstrate how this practice is latently present in our society, mainly characterized in families that have gone through marital conflicts. It was also possible to note the damages, often irreversible, to the normal psychological development of the children and adolescents who face these scenarios.
