Resumo: The researches about the insertion of people with disability (PWD) in the work market  have suggested, either explicitly or implicitly, that the way disability is seen by managers and work colleagues, is an important element to understand this dimension of diversity. The aim of this investigation was to identify and make empirical test of a construct which would help us to understand the way disability has been seen by management professionals who work or could be working with people with disability (PWD). The research was carried out with 227 MBA (Master in Business Administration) students from three different universities. The method used was: the Structural Equation Modeling. Taking the test of model into consideration, we were able to verify that the empirical data supported the construct existence – which presupposes that people in the face of disability tend to build explanations to justify the PWD differences.   These explanations are thinking modalities which qualify the disability and assess the work possibilities of people with disability and are intimately linked to historical matrixes which gave birth to them. This model was supported by the multidimensional structure of the Conceptions of Disability in Work Situations, which reflects in six factors: spiritual dimension, dimension based on presuppositions of normality, dimension based on inclusion, performance, relationship and benefits.

This model was supported by the multidimensional structure of the Conceptions of Disability in Work Situations, which reflects in six factors: spiritual dimension, dimension based on presuppositions of normality, dimension based on inclusion, performance, relationship and benefits.
