Resumo: | The studies related to organizational strategy usually verify how the strategic types(MILES; SNOWS, 1978) are approached by the organizations. This paper puts such behaviors against the computerization phases that were detected aiming at the strategic types of the company to influence may or may not influence their perception of the information technology (IT). The determination of the computerization phase in wich the companies were was based on the absorption process of IT in the company, elaborated by Nolan (1979), in which the predominance of absten tions (non-used) and more advanced phases (control) was noticied, demystifying the initiation phase as prominent. The dominant strategic type detected was the defensive one. Based on the elements that were diagnosed (phase and behavior), the correlation between them was checked by means of an ANOVA test, which indicated the existence of this dependence in the variables involved in a conclusive way, resulting that the companies that were part of the research may be using the computerization as a strategic tool.KEYWORDSInformation technology (IT); Strategy; Microbusiness; Computerization; Retail. |
