Organizational Commitment and Management of Materials and Assets as an Economic Enterprise Solidary: A Study in a Recycling Cooperative

The objective is to analyze the organizational commitment in relation to materials and assets of a recycling cooperative. The management of materials and assets can be realized in a more rational manner, generating productivity gains, greater ability to control the outcome, improving the quality of decisions of the enterprise and consequently the operational and financial results. The management of materials and assets is an important process for any organization, however constitutes a problem for recycling cooperatives to have specific characteristics of the project. In this sense, it made an empirical, descriptive and qualitative research, such as technical procedure we chose the case study. The COOREPA – Cooperativa Recicla Paranaíba was selected as the object of study because it has highlighted the state, being the only cooperative in the state recorded regularly along the OCB/MS – Organização das Cooperativa Brasileiras de Mato Grosso do Sul, and has been recognized in the "Prêmio Santander Universidades" in 2011 , the latter gave a hundred thousand reais at COOREPA. Data collection involved a triangulation of sources of evidence: direct observation, interviews and documents. For the data processing we used the content analysis. The results were organized according to the approaches of organizational behavior (affective, normative and instrumental). The COOREPA faces many problems related to the management of their assets and materials and, considering this perspective, it is necessary to establish rational and appropriate management methods, as well as small investments, preparation of simple mechanisms for materials management and equity. However, a key aspect to managing quality of materials and assets is the commitment of members. The conceptual model of organizational behavior analysis developed in this paper links the approaches of organizational behavior with major authors and categories of analysis, that allowed us to assess the levels of involvement of the cooperative COOREPA are low in all three approaches assessed: emotional, instrumental and normative.
