This work is a description and socio-historical analysis of the Church of the Nazarene in the most important aspects that contributed to its insertion and expansion in Brazil. We describe the formative trajectory of this Church in the United States, starting from the historical-sociological considerations of the theological values ​​that it brings together, such as Arminianism, the Wesleyan tradition and the doctrine of holiness. Primarily, we seek to understand how the process of insertion and expansion of the Church of the Nazarene in Brazil took place, its government structure, its liturgical practice, the formation of pastors, the form of aggregation of members and the relationship established between these pastors and the members. The study of this name is still in its infancy in the Brazilian academic environment, thus, we seek to overcome the lack of information about it in this environment. Therefore, we emphasize the aspects of a socio-historical-institutional approach that can distance themselves from the ecclesial way in which Nazarenes themselves understand their denomination. In approaching this object, we emphasize bibliographical research, document analysis, the use of audiovisual resources, as well as participant observation. This work made possible the understanding that the Church of the Nazarene, since its beginnings, conducts its practice by distinction in the Protestant milieu in which it operates. In the case of Brazil, where there are many other denominations, the Church stands on its main distinction, the doctrine of sanctity, which, based on the theory of religious economies, has served as a product to serve a certain niche in the Brazilian religious market .(AU) In the third chapter the author addresses the "Nazarene Cults and Practices"; addresses the role of the layperson, the pastor, the reading of the Bible, fundamental theological points of the Church of the Nazarene(AU)
