Resumo: The present research investigates the representation of Jesus in the Umbandist religion in its Kardecist and Africanist branches. Having as problematic, how and why does Umbanda bring in its Kardecist and Africanist branches the representative dialogism of Jesus? Since, the main hypothesis was regarding the “how”, that Umbanda built its representation of Jesus, in several aspects, in a re-signified way compared to the Christian view (although this Christian view is not monolithic), and regarding the “why”, the hypothesis is that it did so to increase its acceptance as a Brazilian religion in a mostly Christian context. In this way, the general objective of this work is to carry out a representative analysis of Jesus in Kardecist and Africanist Umbanda, through a Bakhtinian dialogic reading, identifying the contribution and/or complication of this representation in Umbanda's search for regulation and recognition as a Brazilian religion. As a methodological procedure used in this investigation, it was based on qualitative research, through the study of religious languages expressed in the history of Umbanda religion. Also having its bases in the etymological study of the scientific concepts that guide Brazilian religious meetings and interactions, centered on the representative study, with the application of Mikhail Bakhtin's dialogical method. Thus, we believe that this work will bring historical, religious, and cultural contributions regarding the components of Umbanda religion in its different forms of approaches and beliefs about Jesus, reinforcing the fact that representative differences were, and still are, part of the Christian religious context, both in relation to Jesus and other themes. Tendo como problemática, o como e o e por que a Umbanda traz em seus ramos kardecista e africanista o dialogismo representativo de Jesus? Sendo que, a principal hipótese foi quanto ao “como”, que a Umbanda construiu sua representação de Jesus, em vários aspectos, de maneira ressignificada frente a visão cristã (ainda que essa visão cristã não seja monolítica), e quanto ao “por que”, a hipótese é que ela o fez para aumentar a sua aceitação como religião brasileira em um contexto majoritariamente cristão. Dessa maneira, o objetivo geral deste trabalho é de realizar uma análise representativa de Jesus na Umbanda kardecista e africanista, através de uma leitura dialógica bakhtiniana, identificando a contribuição e/ou complicação desta representação na busca da Umbanda por regulamentação e reconhecimento como religião brasileira. Como procedimento metodológico utilizado nesta investigação, pautou-se pela pesquisa qualitativa, por meio do estudo das linguagens religiosas expressas na história da religião umbandista. Tendo também suas bases no estudo etimológico dos conceitos científicos balizadores dos encontros e interações religiosas brasileiras, centrado no estudo representativo, com a aplicação do método dialógico de Mikhail Bakhtin. Assim, acreditamos que este trabalho trará contribuições históricas, religiosas e culturais quanto aos componentes da religião umbandista em suas diferentes formas de abordagens e crenças a respeito de Jesus, reforçando o fato de que diferenças representativas fizeram, e ainda fazem parte do contexto religioso cristão, tanto em relação à Jesus, como a outros temas.
