Adolescence is a dynamic process between infancy and adult age: starts with puberty and terminates with the acquisition of personal identity, autonomy, as well as a development of life project and integration into the society. The identity models are transferred from the parents to the adolescents of the same group of age so as to enhance the construction of ideas and personal affection. This study aims at identifying how an adolescent comes to bear a chronic disease such as diabetes. To that end, we use the qualitative approach adopting as an instrument for data collection semi-structured questionnaires. Five Subjects participated in this investigation with ages ranging from 10 to 17 having had the diagnosis of mellitus diabetes type one for approximately one year. Based on our interviews, we organized our data in three themes: the unfolded impact upon diagnosis on the adolescence; living with changes; and the fetching of identity. Considering that adolescence is a period of life marked with the fetching of identity in which the adolescent is reviewing his infantile point of view towards uncertainty about adult papers presented to him, and associate to this moment is the insurgence of chronic disease, diabetes. It strikes to be important therefore, that there should be a mutual understanding and social support besides been sensitized about diabetics that enhances social and psychological integration of the diabetes carrier.
