Resumo: The research aims to examine the ideas relating to the anthropology of two philosophers, Jean Jacques Rousseau and Edgar Morin and their implications for human development. This theory supports the hypothesis that there might be a possible as well as an enriching dialogue between the two philosophers insofar as they share ideas and common views. From the anthropological point of view both Rousseau and Morin, address the fundamental importance on the study of men. Both philosophers featuring men in their multiple dimensions. Moreover, they argue on the possibility of modification and improvement of humankind throughout history. Therefore, the idea that the human being is not a finished being, but rather in development, makes the issue of human formation fundamental for both Rousseau and Morin. In this sense, several investigated works of Rousseau and Morin refer to the human development in its multidimensional aspects.

A tese defende a hip??tese de que h?? um di??logo poss??vel e enriquecedor entre os dois pensadores, na medida em que partilham de ideias e pontos de vista comuns. Do ponto de vista antropol??gico tanto Rousseau quanto Morin abordam a import??ncia fundamental da investiga????o sobre o homem. Ambos os pensadores caracterizam o homem em suas m??ltiplas dimens??es. Al??m disso, argumentam a favor da possibilidade de modifica????o e aperfei??oamento do homem ao longo de sua hist??ria. Assim a ideia de que o ser humano n??o ?? um ser acabado e est?? sempre por se fazer, torna a quest??o da forma????o humana, fundamental tanto em Rousseau quanto em Morin.
