Resumo: This article discusses the worry with Brazil's dependence on hydroelectric power energy. The shortage and the lack of rain regularity that affected the country in recent years, and the risk of collapse the electric system worries all Brazilians. Then shows that Brazil need to develop other forms of energy, for example, ocean energy, wind and solar energy. Finally, shows that although these new clean energy sources are, in principle, more expensive than the traditional hydroelectric energy, the country can not remain inert and can not postpone the investment in these new sectors, because it can be too late.

A escassez e a falta de regularidade de chuvas têm afetado o paí­s e o risco de colapso do sistema elétrico nacional preocupa a todos. Nesse sentido, aponta para a necessidade de desenvolvimento de outras formas de energia, tais como: energia proveniente dos oceanos,energia eólica, energia solar.
