Resumo: Indigenous populations in the Americas are constantly affected by predatory economic policies that negatively affect their lifeways and territories. The text addresses this issue, through the collaborative (ethno)archaeological research carried out with the Asurini do Xingu indigenous people at the Eastern Amazon, between 2010 and 2018. The objective is to show that this indigenous people has appropriated (ethno)archaeologi­cal research, on the one hand, as a means of materializing and experiencing the narra­tives (historical, autobiographical, mythical) about its historical trajectory and cultural dynamics and, on the other hand, as an instrument of resistance to guarantee the mainte­nance of the their lifeway and their territory. In addition, the text also seeks to show that developing (ethno)archaeological research, considering indigenous narratives, allows us to apprehend other historicities, contributing to the decolonization of occidental thought about long-term indigenous histories.

El texto aborda este tema, a partir de una investigación (etno)arqueológica colaborativa desar­rollada con el pueblo Asurini do Xingu, en una región de la Amazonía Oriental, entre 2010 y 2018. El objetivo es mostrar que este pueblo indígena se ha apropiado de la investigación arqueológica, por un lado, como medio de materialización y vivencia de relatos (históricos, autobiográficos, míticos) sobre su trayectoria histórica y dinámicas culturales y, por otro lado, como instrumento de resistencia para garantizar el mantenimiento de su trajectoria de vida y de su territorio. Además, el texto también busca mostrar que realizar investigaciones (etno) arqueológicas, considerando las narrativas indígenas, permite aprehender otras historicidades, contribuyendo a la descolonización del pensamiento occidental sobre las historias indígenas a largo plazo.As populações indígenas nas Américas são constantemente atingidas por políticas econômicas predatórias que afetam negativamente os seus modos de vida e os seus territórios. O texto aborda este tema, a partir da pesquisa (etno)arqueológica colaborativa desenvolvida com o povo Asurini do Xingu, em uma área na Amazônia Oriental, entre os anos de 2010 e 2018. O objetivo é mostrar que este povo indígena tem se apropriado da pesquisa (etno)arqueológica, por um lado, como um meio de materializar e vivenciar as narrativas (históricas, autobiográficas, míticas) sobre a sua trajetória histórica e dinâmica cultural e, por outro, como um instrumento de resistência para garantir a manutenção do seu modo de vida e do seu território.
