Resumo: In their curricula, confessional institutions of superior education present as subject the so – called religious culture or something equivalent. It is a formal locus by which institutional ideas are known by the students. Generally it follows the logic of the fragmentation of the knowledge, culminating in hiperspecialization. Here we see one of the principal difficulties. On account of the subjects more and more directed to specific areas, the validity of the religious instruction is called into question. The principal problem we don’t find in the approach of religious subjects but in the focus of superior education which intends to the preparation and provision for a profession. The pragmatism, encouraged by a epistemological principle and by a tradition rooting in the development of the society and its culture, doesn’t look the human being, also in superior education, in its integrity. Concepts like culture, religion and education are present pointing to a general problematization which compels to a new viewpoint aiming at a new understanding obtained by means of dialogue with other authors, documents of the Catholic Church and the so – called International Federation of the Catholic Universities. Starting from the fact that university’s evolution takes place according to the paradigm of the modernity, characterized by fragmentation as well as by rational empirism, without a focus on essential horizons and dimensions of the human being, our purpose is to present the religious culture as an integrating space, placing it as a epistemic area in the confluence of theological, philosophical, scientific and religious knowledge.We focus on the construction of trainings to be developed in our subject and the relation of these areas with others of the knowledge, in order to respect and to support the search of life’s meaning, deepening the understanding about the importance of religious culture in the university with indicators directing the efforts toward possible proposals for their adequation to the present educational context as an integration space.

É um espaço formal, no qual o ideário institucional chega a todos os alunos. Segue, normalmente, a lógica do fracionamento do conhecimento que resultou na hiperespecialização. Aqui reside uma de suas principais dificuldades. Num contexto em que as disciplinas estão voltadas, sempre mais, para áreas específicas, a disciplina de Cultura Religiosa, vê questionada sua validade. O problema fundamental não está na abordagem de temas religiosos, mas no foco da educação superior, vista como municiamento e preparação direta para o exercício profissional. O pragmatismo, estimulado por um princípio epistemológico, e uma tradição sócio-cultural que o reforça, não se preocupa, também na educação superior, com o ser humano inteiro. Conceitos diversos como os de cultura, religião e educação estão envolvidos, levando a uma problematização geral que obriga a repensá-los em vista a uma nova compreensão, o que fazemos em diálogo com diversos autores, documentos da Igreja Católica e da Federação Internacional das Universidades Católicas. Partindo da constatação de que a evolução da universidade se dá no paradigma da modernidade, marcado pela fragmentação e por um racionalismo empirista, obliterando horizontes e dimensões essenciais do ser humano, nos propomos mostrar a disciplina de Cultura Religiosa como um espaço integralizador da educação, situando-a, como campo epistêmico, na confluência do conhecimento teológico, filosófico, científico e religioso.Indagamos sobre as construções de aprendizagem a serem desenvolvidas nessa disciplina e a relação dessas com outras áreas de conhecimento, para que se respeite e apóie a busca de sentido para a existência, aprofundando a compreensão sobre a sua relevância na universidade e apresentando indicadores, em vista a possíveis propostas para a sua adequação ao atual contexto educacional, como espaço integralizador.Made available in DSpace on 2013-08-07T18:49:45Z (GMT).
