Resumo: The present article was aimed to analyze the psychological and psychosocial aspects involved in the young adult’s process of remaining at their parents’ home. Four young adults were interviewed, two men and two women, aged from 27 to 35 years old. The method used was Stake’s Collective Case Study. Data analysis have been made according to the content analysis method. The difficulty of getting a job and good salaries associated to the wish of continuing enjoying their parents’ home comfort and safety is the young adults’ main reason to remain at their parents’ home.

Participaram deste estudo quatro adultos jovens, sendo dois homens e duas mulheres, na faixa etária dos 27 aos 35 anos. Utilizou-se como instrumento da pesquisa uma entrevista semi-estruturada. O método empregado foi o estudo de casos coletivos e fez-se uma análise de conteúdo das informações.
