This research had as main purposes to check the CPT sensibility on discriminating deaf intra-group differences, and betwen results of each of the two groups conceming to the expected pattem. On group were composed by a population which had hearing losses between 50 and 80 db the other, by people having more than 80 db. The data were provided by a hundred deaf youngsters of ages between 13 and 20 years, attendants of Special or Regular School from Campinas (SPjBR). One concluded that, as an instrument, the CPT was not sensible on detecting significant differences between the groups but it was effective when theresults were compared to expected values. It was possible to evaluate a series of common and distinct characteristics between groups. It was not noticed a psychotic profile or psychotic tendencies, which confirms results of sere vai other researches.
